We have rules, we have these rules for a reason. We
honestly believe our slogan and are determined to find "forever" homes
for our greyhounds.
Kid minimum 8 - 10 years old, because...
We are unable to evaluate greyhounds for younger children. Most
greyhounds do fine with older children. Greyhounds have space
issues, requiring they not be intruded upon when they are laying
down or sleeping. Younger children cannot be expected to understand
this.
Fences, because ...
Fences increase the safety of greyhounds at home, and
provide an opportunity to run and play off leash. We want them all
to have that privilege. It makes adjustment to a home smoother, and
continuing their housebreaking simple. It also increases their
ability to exercise.
Distance to adopt policy, because ...
We do a home visit for every placement. We provide 24 hour a day
support for each greyhound, and start with a two week trial period
prior to adoption. We are very connected to each of our greyhounds,
and want to see them from time to time. Placing them hours away
creates a hardship for all. It makes it difficult to do follow ups,
and can mean we may never see that greyhound again.
